Their constant effort to locate new and better areas has placed their clients in some of the finest hunting available. They are proud to say that they have taken ten bull elk over 400 in score in the last 5 years, mule deer scoring over 200, coues deer in the 120's, and antelope in the 90's. Your outfitter, Ross Johnson, has been in New Mexico 26 years, all of which time he has been an outdoorsman in either the trapping and fur trade, or outfitting and hunting business. He is an accomplished archer choosing to hunt in a traditional style. His love of the outdoors and his respect for the animals he hunts has driven him to be more than just another good outfitter. It has motivated him to learn as much as possible about each species hunted and more importantly, at times, about each animal hunted. One of his main joys in life has been his hound dogs and the thrill of the chase. Currently his main businesses are outfitting and the sales of hunting ranches. Having a vast knowledge of game and game management the two have become one. He is a pilot of 35 years and uses his airplane both in the scouting of new hunting areas and in real estate. He hopes to be hunting with each one of you and sharing stories (which he is famous for) around the campfire.
